The City of Quinte West has identified the need for additional water capacity to support recent and planned future growth in the Frankford area. The Frankford Water Treatment Plant (WTP) located on the west side of the Trent River, currently supplies drinking water for Frankford and Batawa. Areas of Frankford on the east side of the river are serviced by a single watermain crossing on the Frankford bridge. The recommended solution is to connect the Frankford and Trenton water systems on the east side of the Trent River with 3.3 km of new watermain along Glen Miller Road and a booster pumping station (BPS) on city-owned property near the Lock #4 access road (refer to map).
