The work involves the supply of all labour, equipment and materials for the installation of a new watermain from the Quinte West Water Treatment Plant on Chester Road to Subway Road and the subsequent abandonment of the existing watermain. This includes traffic control, the abandonment or removal (whichever is specified) of the existing watermain and the installation of new watermain including it’s services and all appurtenances, full depth asphalt removal, road base excavation, topsoil and seed, supply and placement of Type II Limestone Granular A & B, hot-mix asphalt paving, concrete block/pad removal, earth excavation and rock excavation. Respondents should take note that the City is currently in negotiations with a private entity in regards to acquiring an easement necessary for construction. The starting date may be delayed until the Easement Agreement has been finalized. Work is expected to begin upon contract execution and be substantially complete by December 20, 2024. Final Completion must be prior to May 30, 2025. Refer to RFQ Items (Special Provisions) and Contract Drawings & Specifications for further detail. |
