The work involves the supply of all labour, equipment, and materials for the installation, splicing and commissioning of a new fibre optic network on the West End of Trenton. This project utilizes existing conduit and Ground Level Box (GLB) infrastructure to provide high-speed connectivity to municipal buildings, traffic assets, and community signage. The work items include: traffic control, the installation of 144-strand single-mode loose tube fibre along the primary route, the installation of 12-strand lateral fibre to buildings, the installation of 6-strand lateral fibre to traffic controllers and community signage, the supply and installation of weatherproof Fibre Optic Splice Closures (FOSC) within existing GLBs, the supply and installation of building and equipment enclosures, fusion splicing of all backbone and lateral fibers, and comprehensive end-to-end OTDR testing. Additionally, 216 splices need to be completed at the OPP Community building with the fibre already run to the trays. Refer to appendices for detailed splice counts and site maps. Project Timeline:
