The work includes the supply of all labour, equipment, and materials necessary to remove the existing concrete sidewalk and asphalt boulevard and to construct new concrete sidewalk on the south side of Dundas Street West from Farley Crescent to Tripp Boulevard, including two short sidewalk segments in front of 303 Dundas Street West. The work also includes sidewalk construction on the north side of Dundas Street West from Hasting Drive to Fourth Avenue, with a provisional section extending from Fourth Avenue to McColl Street. All associated intersection aprons and applicable appurtenances are to be included.

The work items include: traffic control, removal of existing concrete sidewalk and applicable appurtenances (i.e. tactile plates), removal of curb, full-depth removal of the asphalt boulevard, installation of concrete sidewalk/aprons, installation of tactile plates, installation of curb & gutter, horizontal and longitudinal saw cutting of existing curb and new sidewalk, and placement of topsoil & seed.

Commencement of work will be May 4, 2026 with substantial completion on or before August 21, 2026 with final completion on or before August 28, 2026.

Due to the location of this project on an arterial roadway and in proximity to schools, only one side of the Dundas Street West sidewalk may be closed at any given time. If awarded, the Contractor shall ensure that either the north side or the south side sidewalk remains open at all times to maintain safe pedestrian access. Once sidewalk panels are disturbed, the longest amount of time permitted for the block to be disturbed is 7 calendar days.
